New Charm City Circulator route to launch
After months of delays caused by problems in the delivery of buses, Baltimore will launch the second of three planned lines for its free Charm City Circulator shuttle service Monday. The new north-south Purple Route will run downtown from Ostend Street in South Baltimore to Penn Station, operating at 10-minute intervals.

Leesburg-to-Tysons Corner express bus to launch
Getting to Tysons Corner just got a little easier for Loudoun County residents: An express bus service between Loudoun and Tysons will launch on June 21. The ride from Leesburg along the Dulles Greenway and the Dulles Airport Access Road to the first stop in Tysons is expected to run about 45 minutes.

MD considers alternate routes for Gaithersburg light rail / BRT
State transportation planners are nearing completion on an environmental study that will help determine the alignment and transportation mode of the long-planned Corridor Cities Transitway. The Maryland Transit Administration, at the request of county and Gaithersburg officials, is studying three alternative alignments that would improve service to the Shady Grove Life Sciences Center in Rockville and the Kentlands and Crown Farm areas of Gaithersburg.

Circulator may replace Georgetown Blue Bus
Last October, DDOT started floating the idea of replacing the remaining Blue Bus route between Rosslyn and Dupont with a new Circulator route. The target is to start up the route by the Fall.

Baltimore Circulator is exceeding ridership expectations
The Charm City Circulator, the free shuttle bus service inaugurated by Mayor of Christmas Past Sheila Dixon as one of her last acts in office, has exceeded the city’s ridership expectations, a city official reports. Barry Robinson, transit and marine chief in the Department of Transportation, said ridership on the Circulator’s initial route has grown from about 1,200 a day when it began service to 1,500-1,700 a day nine weeks later.

NH-1 bus still not operating correctly
Instead of starting at the Southern Avenue Metro station and making several stops in Oxon Hill, the NH-1 bus to National Harbor now starts at the Branch Avenue Station, stops at a park and ride on Oxon Hill Road and ends on St. George Boulevard in National Harbor. The route is extremely inconvenient for users, but despite repeated attempts has not yet been corrected.
