• Congress approved an $8 billion bailout subsidy for highways. At least they’re talking about transit too.
• Maryland cut almost $70 million from the Purple line and Corridor Cities Transitway, but is steaming ahead at almost full speed on the ICC.
• DC Councilman Jim Graham proposed a new Circulator route connecting Woodley Park, Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights and McPherson Square. A few tweaks aside, BeyondDC is a fan.
• A report from the American Public Transportation Association shows how much money the average adult can save each year by living car-free. The verdict for Washington? $10, 593.
• Though we can’t find any corroborating online story, BeyondDC has heard rumors that VRE broke its daily ridership record earlier this week.
• Amidst contentious public dialogue, DC unveiled the latest draft plan for Brookland.
