New York has its Wall Street financiers, Boston its Beacon Hill brahmins, and London its Fleet Street reporters. Washington’s answer, of course, is the K Street lobbyist. The new circle, by the way, is an improvement over the old, but still noticeably bare. It will need considerably more furnishing, of both the natural and constructed sorts, before it can legitimately take its place as a valuable city park.
